A Little About Us
Dr. Jerry Fikes began his dental practice in Tuscaloosa in 1978, about the time Will Wagner was starting Elementary school across town. Over the years, Dr. Fikes' practice grew, and he began to shift toward more cosmetic procedures, while continuing to provide the same restorative and preventive treatments to all patients, both old and new. While Dr. Fikes was busy growing his practice, Will Wagner was completing his education, which ultimately led him into the dental profession. In 2004, Dr. Fikes was looking for the right dentist to bring into his busy practice, and Dr. Wagner was three years out of dental school looking for an opportunity to return to Tuscaloosa, where he had spent most of his life. The two were put together by a mutual friend who thought that they would be a good fit, and in January 2005, Dr. Wagner joined the practice that Dr. Fikes had built.

Dr. Will Wagner
Will Wagner, D.M.D., attended the University of Alabama, where he obtained undergraduate degrees in psychology and biology before entering dental school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, earning his D.M.D. degree in 2001. Afterward, he attended the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine, where he received advanced training in implant dentistry, oral surgery, and endodontics before completing his general practice residency in 2002. After completing his education, Dr. Wagner went into private practice, working for three years in the Birmingham area until he joined Dr. Fikes and his team in January 2005. Dr. Will Wagner is affiliated with several professional dental associations, including the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), Alabama Dental Association, American Dental Association (ADA), and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).
Dr. Wagner and his wife Berkley have two daughters, Anna Carson, and Allie, and a black Labrador Retriever named Greta. When he is not spending time with his family, Dr. Wagner enjoys hunting, fishing, and working at his family's farm in nearby Hale county.
Dr. Jerry Fikes
Jerry A. Fikes, D.M.D., M.A.G.D., attended the University of Alabama, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in 1971 and his D.M.D. in 1975. After obtaining his D.M.D., he practiced dentistry for two years with his father, Dr. R.E. Fikes, in his hometown of Winfield. Next, in 1977, Dr. Jerry Fikes served a general practice residency at the University Hospital in Birmingham. He established his practice in Tuscaloosa in July 1978. Dr. Jerry Fikes is affiliated with the following accredited dental associations: the ADA, AACD, AGD, Alabama Dental Association, Sixth District Dental Society, and the Southeastern Academy of Prosthodontics. (In addition to standard membership in the AGD, Dr. Fikes was designated both a fellow and a Master of the Academy, achievements which require 1,100 hours of continuing education courses.) Dr. Fikes’ expertise also earned him inclusion in the 2003 edition of Guide to America’s Top Dentists.
Dr. Jerry Fikes and his wife, Ginny, enjoy ballroom dancing and spending time with their five children. The family enjoys worshiping together and cheering on the Alabama basketball team.
